My problem with the current state of Rust

No! I'm not just complaining about the game. As I say in the video, Rust changes all the time. the meta changes, new ideas come about with all the new content being added and we've all evolved with it. However, I don't like the place the game is in right now. More or less every single player grinds a level 2, almost always a level 3 by the end of day one and that's the rest of the wipe. What's the point in having these lower tiers if they aren't utilised or mastered? if they're not even needed? I'd rather have a primitive day, a stepping stone into the end game (which the level 2 workbench does perfectly by providing good weapons, but not any raiding material) and then unlock the 3rd workbench once I've settled into a wipe, and progressed up to it.

I'm not going to quit rust and unfortunately I have to stick with the metric of getting AK researched on day 1 and farming the server. I suppose it's fun, to an extent, but I wish it was still a survival game, rather than a shooter crossed with a bit of material/AI grinding. Tell me your thoughts.
