We continue our NBA 2K18 My League expansion team series with the first big trade of the season, as we try to get a more defensive-minded player to man the Point Guard in Louisville.

In this episode of our NBA 2K18 My League expansion team series, the Louisville Legionnaires make their first big trade of the season, moving Point Guard Tyler Ulis to Utah in exchange for Dante Exum. While Ulis was a competent floor general and a capable scorer for the Legionnaires, his lack of size and defense was always an issue against teams with dominant Point Guard scorers. The Legionnaires look to fix that problem by adding the 6’6 Exum, who quickly finds his rhythm in a fast-paced offense in Louisville and shows his abilities both as an on-ball defender and as a playmaker.
The season continues promising for the Legionnaires, as Mo Bamba returns from an injury, the season series against the Indiana Pacers ends in a dominant sweep and Anthony Davis records the first ever triple double in franchise history!

This NBA 2K18 video is part of my NBA 2K18 My League Expansion series. During the series, we will manage all aspects of an NBA expansion team in NBA 2K18’s My League mode, trying to keep things as realistic as possible. We will not abuse NBA 2K18’s trade logic in My League mode or make more than only a handful of roster moves each season. Instead, we will slowly but steadily try to improve the expansion team with players who fit in and can add something to the roster. The ultimate goal of this NBA 2K18 My League Expansion series is to win the NBA championship with our expansion team, but before we can celebrate there is a lot of hard work to do.

My original plans were to play through NBA 2K18 My GM mode with an expansion team, but after 2K added a storyline to My GM mode, choosing an expansion team is no longer possible there. Instead, we have to stick to My League mode, which sadly lacks a few of the interesting features that My GM mode had. Still, My League offers greater customization and control, especially when it comes to trading (and keeping the CPU away from completing borderline insane roster moves).

NBA 2K18 is a basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It is the 19th installment in the NBA 2K franchise and the successor to NBA 2K17. It was released worldwide on September 15, 2017, for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Several game modes are included, such as My Career, where the player creates a customizable player and plays through their career, My GM and My League, both franchise modes where the player controls an entire organization, and My Team, where the player creates a team to compete against other players' teams.
