NEO : The World Ends with You- Flexing on Week 2 Day 1 Boss
Another level 1 no damage no food no threads run of the chameleon boss fight in week 2 day 1, this time with the intent to earn a star ranking. Easiest way to play hyper-aggressive against the chameleon is to keep attacking it with the goal of successively dropping the beat so as to build groove meter quickly. Once the meter reaches 100%, preserve your mashup attack and be ready to use it once you trigger the chameleons revenge value retaliation, which is the AOE shockwave attack. You can tell this is happening when you see a glow of red light burst from the noise's body. The chameleon will charge up the attack for a few seconds before releasing, which grants you an extremely short time frame to wail on it for extra damage until it's time to release the mashup attack during its retaliation. Keep up a rhythm of aggressive psych usage, beat dropping, and mashup activation during the AOE attack and you'll shred through the chameleon in no time.
Mashup attacks DO have I-frames for anyone that was wondering or doubtful, but it's only during the frames where the attack has been triggered and it only grants those I-frames to the character who unleashed it (i.e. the character that last dropped the beat into the mashup attack), meaning the rest of your party members DO NOT have invulnerability and can still take damage. This means that you better not be mashing attacks for other party members while you've activated the mashup otherwise you'll see your HP drain REAL QUICK. I don't really like that to be honest; I think all your party members should be granted I-frames during the mashup's startup frames to allow you to better control the course of battle. It's easier to cover your AI screwing up a dodge if you can at least protect them from damage by popping the mashup. I don't think it's necessary to grant I-frames throughout the entire mashup attack; that might be too much for a game of this combat style. Maybe a future patch can remedy this poor decision; but eh, who knows. Anyway, the AI is capable of frame perfect dodging, so for the most part, it will USUALLY always dodge the chameleon's AOE, giving you less to worry about when going against that attack, but still. Finishers from psychs will interrupt the chameleons AOE attack as well if said AOE attack wasn't trigger by a revenge value retaliation, encouraging players to be skillful in their aggressive play against this type of noise.
