9Newport County confirmed League Two football for next season by defeating Notts County in the final minute on the final day of the season.
The Exiles looked down and out when Mike Flynn took the reigns from Graham Westley but a dramatic upturn in results has seen them secure League Two safety.
County have won seven of their 13 games under Flynn who took over a club devoid of hope and written off at the bottom of the EFL’s basement league.
And while few believed the ‘great escape’ was possible when Graham Westley lost his job back on March 9th, Flynn and his players kept belief to achieve an unbelievable feat.
Backed by the passionate Amber Army who have helped turn Rodney Parade into a fortress, County have marched on to steer clear of the dreaded National League.
Today’s final day win over Notts County secured the Exiles’ Football League status and initiated a party at Rodney Parade.
