Here is another video demonstration showing you the viewer how to defeat Vazdah on Chapter 17 of Master Ninja difficulty without taking damage using the Vigoorian Flails.

Strategy - At the start of the video I showcased SoundDreamer's strategy to avoid taking damage on the fire pillars which erupt from the ground when Vazdah punches the ground.

He does this up to 4 times in quick succession, SD uses Forward and Triangle together 4 times in a row to escape them as this move not only propels Ryu forward but it also has a chance to deal damage to Vazdah in the process.

As far as timing this is concerned I would suggest inputting the command as soon as is fist touches the ground and repeat the input consecutively until he stops.

For damage opportunities, I used various attacks throughout this battle such as Forward and Square together, SC into 360 Triangle, SC after the first hit. Normal 360 Triangle full animation, aerial Square, Triangle to name a few.
