Ninja Backlash and Fan Outrage (aka latest thing the internet is mad at)
15So for those of you who don’t know there’s been some backlash against Ninja for some comments he made, mostly how he doesn’t stream with female twitch streamers and the like. Mostly because he’s afraid of the internet outrage machine doing what it does and taking things out of context and making trouble for him. So in the latest internet controversy or rather the latest thing the internet is mad at, I wanted to give some thoughts on the situation. Not really on the “ninja talks about female streamers” thing but more on the “Latest Thing The Internet is Mad At Thing.”
The situation is crazy, you got Ninja’s fans up in arms to defend him. You got them kind of crapping all over people who are making just jokes and trying to make a little fun of an insane situation and you have those fans going after those people and it just becomes this big cycle of hate and it’s just… bad all around. So this is more about discussing Fan Outrage! In general you know? Discussing how crazy it is that we have this culture of attacking and tearing down anyone that says anything bad about someone or something we like.
Now keep in mind i'm not going after every fan but it's not like people really read the description or watch the full videos you know? This is just going after the general idea and the extreme members of these groups. I'm going after Fanatics not just your average joe that wants to watch funny videos on the internet. So let's take a look at why are people upset with ninja and internet outrage 2018!
(actually thinking about it, latest thing the internet is mad at is probably a good title for a segment...) Anyways we're going to have to wait and see how ninja reacts to this latest internet outrage. (the whole not streaming with twitch female streamers thing.)
