NRC Lab | ADACA Zone Patrol ~100% Walkthrough Part 12
ADACA is a singleplayer sci-fi FPS developed by Siris Pendrake with two independent campaigns that take inspiration from the Half-Life and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
After playing through the campaign I couldn't wait to jump back into the Zone Patrol mode that is soaked in mystery. This series will be a roughly 100% walkthrough of the mode, covering all artifacts missions and points of interest. I know there are potentially things I missed so feel free to comment with any additional information to make this series as complete as possible as I can't find a definitive guide online. So I am hoping that this series will fulfill that need for people. Although I highly recommend trying to figure as much out for yourself as exploring the zone and working out its mysteries is where a lot of the enjoyment of the mode comes from.
I have wanted to make a series on the channel covering ADACA since I originally played it after chapter 3 was released for the campaign. For a game I only picked up after watching JarekTheGamingDragon's original video (Linked Here: • ADACA Review - A New Half-Like (Full Release) ) it has really surpassed all expectations I had for the game in so many ways. The amount of content on offer through both the campaign and zone patrol modes is astounding considering the level of quality throughout, and overall is a real achievement by the single developer Siris Pendrake.
The gameplay is very similar to Half Life 2 mainly because of a Gravity Gun like mechanic but also other shooters of the 2000's. It is definitely fast paced un fun whilst being quick and easy to pick up but satisfying to master. It also demands further playthroughs with how addictive it is and how it makes you want to improve how you handle each encounter to out do your previous performance. This is further encouraged by the wide variety of weapons available that are all satisfying to use and feel like they all have real weight behind them. The game also almost never takes control away from the player making it feel very immersive through the entirety of the campaign run time. There are also many moments throughout the game that are very tense and have a horror like atmosphere to them that really keep you on your toes, even after feeling powerful from the more action focused encounters.
I have to mention the art style as well that is in itself a massive achievement, managing to make awesome vistas and almost set piece like reveals that make the most of the games aesthetic. That even with the low-poly art style make you want to stop and stare at everything, especially some of the more open views. They also help balance the pacing of the game between the intense firefights letting you slow down and making it feel like ADACA's campaign is a world to explore rather than just a series of levels (it is also a reason why I think the Zone Patrol mode that I will have on the channel later is such a great fit for the game).
The games soundscape also fits this theme that gives a real sense of being isolated on this abandoned planet but not quite alone as there may be something lurking round the corner. But when music does play it definitely adds a lot of character to the action and is always impactful to what is happening in screen.
The story of the game throughout the campaign and the Zone Patrol mode is also soaked in mystery that again makes you feel like ADACA is a world to explore and has you questioning what has happened that has lead to this point.
If you haven't gathered I can't sing this games praises enough especially considering it was made by a single developer and I highly recommend you check out the demo on the games Steam page for yourself here: (it's an absolute steal at ~£20)

And Siris Pendrake, if you ever read this, well done you absolutely knocked it out of the park.
I am also using a guide to help me find all the secrets hidden in the campaign so I can show them off in the walkthrough for you, linked here:

Although I do recommend playing through the campaign at least once without it to really explore things for yourself.
I hope you enjoy this series on this game that I don't think has had the exposure it deserves. So if you do enjoy this series make sure to like and subscribe for more so we can try and let as many people as possible discover it and so you don't miss out on what this game has to offer yourself.
Thanks for watching and stay tuned for when we explore the games Zone patrol mode in the future.
