Nvidia RTX 3060Ti vs 5700XT with 5600X in 1080p, 1440p Tested Benchmarks
The "Navi" line, as AMD's next-gen video cards have long been termed, took a while to arrive, but early returns say that AMD is clawing its way back into contention. The $399 Radeon RX 5700 XT is the upper of two new graphics cards, based on a 7-nanometer (7nm) production process, that aim to muffle the thunder Nvidia has been enjoying in the midrange market for so long. And after running it through our benchmarks, this card does so with gusto. It runs a bit hotter than its Nvidia counterparts (the RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 Supers), and its early overclocking results leave something to be desired. But aside from that, the RX 5700 XT is an encouraging card that, thanks in part to a sudden prerelease price drop, gets AMD to a better place than it's been for years. Midrange graphics card shoppers hungry to see some competition will be pleased.
It’s perhaps what makes AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT all the more impressive. Alongside the Radeon RX 5700, it has been taking the RDNA graphics architecture and making it a hit despite Nvidia’s powerful contenders. It takes its original target, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070, to task, as well as holds its own against the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super. And, it has helped paved the way for AMD to make a dramatic comeback, succeeding where the relatively unloved Radeon VII could not.
What the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT has to offer is a combination of great gaming performance and a plethora of incredible features. So, even with Big Navi slated for an October 28 launch and touting a card that could deliver double its power, the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT remains to be among the best graphics cards today.
