Mobile developer Madfinger Games is known for the top shooter titles Shadowgun and Dead Trigger. Continuing that tradition, Madfinger is today releasing Dead Trigger 2 on iOS and Android as a free-to-play title with more zombie shooting than you can shake a shotgun at. This first-person shooter places you right in the middle of an ongoing zombie apocalypse, and survival won't be easy.
The last Dead Trigger game was a conventional shooter, but this one will be happening in real time. You will join a world filled with other players who are also fighting for the survival of humanity. Even when you're not playing, the world of Dead Trigger 2 continues to change and evolve.
Players will be able to develop personal hideouts that include a gunsmith, medic, scientists, and other NPCs that help you along. Of course, most of these features will come at a price. Dead Trigger 2 will sell bundles of in-app currency that can be used to buy guns and other items. However, most of the game's content is available at no cost if you don't mind a little grinding.
Dead Trigger 2 supports controllers and on-screen touch controls. It's a conventional virtual thumbstick system for control, but it is done very well in this case. Gamers with an Nvidia Shield handheld Android console will find that they have pre-configured controls in Dead Trigger 2.
The original Dead Trigger was one of the games used to show off Tegra 3's enhanced graphics, and it's the same story with the sequel and Tegra 4. Android tablets running Nvidia's newest ARM chip will get improved textures, high-resolution reflections, and more particle effects. Regular Android devices and iDevices will still be treated to top-of-the-line visuals, though.
