ONI Part 13. Testing cooling loops - hydrogen, polluted water (playthrough, no commentary)
This video covers cycles between 240 and 260. The period is dedicated to getting everything online (!), testing, and fine tuning as needed.
• I never get the metal refinery online before research for temperature control in pipes is done. Otherwise there is a lot of waste because of not being able to circulate the output liquid safely.
• Fixing the general wiring in groups to, lined to transformers is a personal preference, especially when there is not space to build multiple power plants.
• For gas circulation, introducing reservoirs to the cycle is very handy. One forgets piping when adding hydrogen, or sometimes hydrogen gets stuck due to construction or an error, piling up at a location, and so on. Adding gas reservoirs keep things going – giving a bit more time to the player to realize the problem without stopping the loop due to buildup.
• The two hydrogen filled rooms, where gas vents are snaking through are the rooms where I would normally run cold oil out of thermo aqua tuner, usually linked to a steam turbine as well. Given that there is no oil in this map, an alternative needs to be introduced to the base, likely polluted water from the geyser.
