dead space 3 really landed the exploration of space. focused way too much on action, neglecting horror aspects like Isaac near the start lands on huge pile of bodies but only the bodies laying around in front of him become necromorphs from the Marker signal. environment good, but use of them not. forced to use kinesis to wheel open airlocks, LOTS of backtracking areas, zones empty of anything, unable to grab logs or artifacts with kinesis was one of the stupidest things i've noticed. that's next to some bodies being scenary items you can't touch or move. always liked being able to smash things. at least coop still works 10+ years later, but you have to use the horrid EA launcher. like, wtf is that garbage? still haven't learned how to skip cutscenes, or if it's even possible. agonizing love triangle strangled all the Dead Space from the game just after the stupidly long action sequence at the start. being reminded it exists as they nag and nag is frustrating, almost like how they decided to launch their new jank ship towards the planet at full speed despite the wreckage around them and the copious mines that blasted their first ship. damn idiots couldn't control their speed? eliminate the mines first with the maintenance skips? can only equip 2 weapons, FFS, why even bother if you allow players to make whatever gun they want but stop them from carrying? also, lumped all ammo into one item category. wow, strategies of using resources to craft specific ammo types out the window. Also, the stasis module is ridiculous too. I legitimately tested it after one radius upgrade and sometimes, it doesn't affect necromorphs, just limbs on the ground. even if you stand in front of them, it will go right through their body. higher upgrades fixed that issue, but that was so incredibly frustrating
