I've had this one on my computer for about 3 weeks without uploading... Yeesh - I'm getting pretty lazy about uploading.

For this one, I decided to experiment with mixing retro sounds and high-quality soundfonts. I used synths from a Japan-exclusive computer soundchip from a computer called the OPN/A Yamaha PC-982608 (better known as the PC-98) for the retro sounds, and switched over to SGM V2.01.sf2 gradually. This piece is also where I decided to get serious with headphone mixing, which is fair enough, considering how much better it sounds with mixing, especially after obtaining those ~lovely~ audiofly headphones for Christmas oWo. I put a lost more focus into the drum part than I usually do, and I even gave it a Japanese title!

At one point, there is an effect in the video which I shamelessly recorded off the CyberLink website. Credit goes to henry for making that effect.

(NOTE: 'Onogoro' is taken from the Shinto creation myth of Izanami ('she who invites') and Izanagi ('he who invites'). 'Onogoroshima' (淤能碁呂島 - translates to 'self-raising island') is the first island in the myth. Having appeared when Izanami and Izanagi threw a jeweled spear into the sea, descriptions of it bear very little resemblance to any real Japanese island. Why is this song named 'self-raising mansion'? Hehehe - it's related to a project I've been working on for a while... ;P)

I've put 'version 1' in the title because there are still parts of this that I'm not entirely happy with, such as the rushed first 2 bars, which could be stretched out into full phrases, the fact that most of the balance sticks in the right ear, and the time signature change from 3/4 into 4/4 at the end, which feels somewhat lackluster. I don't think I'll be revising this for a while, though. Perhaps, I'll be cruel and only publish the revised version on iTunes.... mwehehehehehehehehe!!!

The piece is vaguely apocalyptic in feel.

It's almost a Touhou stage 3 theme, I guess? It's a lot more apocalyptic than any stage 3 theme I know, though.

THIS SONG IS MY COPYRIGHT. PLEASE DO NOT RE-USE IT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
