Operation Flashpoint: Red River - End of the Beginning - Operation Dragon Slayer

After 10 days of almost consistent combat, Outlaw are exhausted and now need to bring this conflict to an end. Mustang actual is pleased with our success on the battlefield and has put the unit up for commendations. PLA reinforcements are moving towards our location at speed.
Mustang actual has tasked Outlaw with taking and holding a mining village ahead. The PLA are extremely well dug in hear and have a lot at their disposal. AT and AA defences along with MG positions will make it difficult for infantry and armour to advance.
Friendly LAVs under callsign Iron Horse 3 will be rolling alongside Outlaw and providing covering fire. The first objective is to clear the outlaying buildings to the mining village, AT teams are priority and must be eliminated before they can target the LAVs.
The Marines storm the area and then give the all clear for the support vehicles to move up. Orders to continue pressing East come through but the PLA are holding the next group of buildings in large numbers.
Kirby calls in CAS and mortar strikes on the enemy position but the PLA take a friendly chopper out and therefore CAS is closed until the Marines can knock out the AA teams. Alpha, Bravo and Charlie now move up under fire and secure a couple of buildings.
From this position Bravo move out to secure the flank and engaged by several teams including spec ops teams. Outlaw then secure the next building which has MG emplacements to which they use against the PLA.
With the immediate area cleared, Outlaw are given orders to take and hold the centre of the mining village. They achieve the objective with relative ease and take up defensive positions to await the PLA counter-attack.
PLA forces start to pour into the area and are supported by APCs and artillery. Its soon becomes apparent that Outlaw cannot hold the area and prepare a organised fall back to their last defensive position. As always, Bravo are left till the last and have to cover the other teams.
Bravo retreat under heavy fire and link up with Outlaw, the PLA are soon on the offensive and throw scores of men at the Marines, luckily the LAVs move up provide much needed fire support, Kirby also calls in CAS and mortar strikes on the PLA.
After several minutes the PLA pull back, Outlaw and Iron Horse 3 now prepare to take control of the rest of the mining village. Bravo and Charlie will take the left flank while Alpha will secure the right. Several enemy positions need to be cleared out before the US forces can claim they have control.
Thinking that the battle is over, intel comes in that a massive PLA force is moments away from the mining village. Outlaw and Iron Horse 3 move to edge of town and take up defensive positions and wait.
The PLA launch a massive attack covered by a smoke screen. Kirby calls in everything the US forces have and also fires several AT rounds to eliminate the enemy armour. Heavy shelling and small arms fire seems to be enough and the PLA order a full scale retreat.
