Ninth part of the ongoing Orcs Must Die! 2 Weekly Challenge campaign that Robot Entertainment is bringing forth to support the community in post production. I will be making the attempt to clear each challenge to the best of my abilities as they are released. How many will they release in the end? Who knows, but I know it'll be fun! =D
Welcome to Precipice!... and the most absurd trap/accessory combination to date on the Weekly challenges! This is no blind run whatsoever, this is after an hour and some of practice solo and with my friend Fran. The fact that we were able to co-op a top 10 rank with only 3 skulls cleared is a testament to the insanity of this level.
It took me a while to figure this one out, but here it is. A fully five skulled video of this challenge. You have to be incredibly mana efficient, micro manage the mine cart to maximize it's damage, a be a bit lucky with the mana potion drops on the void walls. It's hard to describe the challenge aside from the fact, make HUUUUGE paths for the orcs and friends to go through to maximize your mana regeneration time and their travel time. Don't be afraid to barricade the the final passage off to slow down the oncoming onslaught either, as you may just need to do that.
Few pointers to help out:
-Three shots of Flame Bracers with a mine cart should kill all the Ogres. Don't be afraid to use the secondary on the Ice Amulet to keep an Ogre in place for a prolonged period of time on the track so a mine cart can smash it.
-The Earth Elementals take an ABSURD amount of damage from the Ice Amulet, so use that to your advantage to dispatch them quickly.
-Though there are not a lot of Flyers, they do exist, so keep an eye out for them and handle as needed.
-Path the Orcs and friends in such a way to maximize their time on the track. This will be your "killing mechanism" while you're recharging mana. The barricade setup I used to path the East Orcs over the north bridge helps kill things. Make use of the turnstile of the mine cart to maximize kill times.
-Void Walls... throw as many Orcs as possible into these walls to maximize your item acquisition. Don't be afraid to pick up potions when you're running low on Mana as they willl disappear after a certain period of time. Better to use them smartly than to not use them at all.
