After completing Super Kiwi 64, Snakeman travels a bit further in time to see its genesis. Kiwi 64 was a little free game project by Siactro made in 2014 as a giant love letter to that one British N64 dev that liked putting googly eyes on everything. It's got the talking sfx, the NPCs that give little tasks, a villain that rhymes, and a rotating unobtainable eggplant. Clearly this is pretty early but it shows everyone starts somewhere and this is quite the first stepping stone.

Not as far back is Beeny, released just 2 months ago. Beeny is a small bite sized vertical platformer with that lovely compressed pre-rendered CG sprite style you'd see from Rare's SNES outings like DKC and Killer Instinct. Beeny acts as the prelude to Super Kiwi 64, even having a small little early demo baked into its finale. Actually explains more about Super Kiwi's story than Super Kiwi did. You can find Beeny over on Steam, Switch, gamejolt, itch.io, etc for just a buck.
