The opening to Konami's Otomedius, a Cute 'em Up shooter released in Japanese arcades. Otomedius is blend of both Konami's Gradius and Parodious series. Being an arcade game played on the e-AMUSEMENT Arcade Cabinet, it featured a full-on touch screen to interact with the game menus and perform special attacks on screen, and by using e-AMUSEMENT PASS players can record their stats, gain experience points (ST) to access higher difficulties and rise their ranks, and use the online ranking system. Like Gradius, you pick up a power-up item to move a cursor to select the power-up of your choosing, and like Parodious, features tons of cute / sexy girls and fanservice. For the curious, the character art for the Otomedius series is done by none other than the creator of Keroro Gunsou (a.k.a. Sgt. Frog) himself, Mine Yoshizaki.

Since it's arcade debut, Otomedius seen two console releases on Xbox 360; Otomedius Gorgeous!, a (presently) Japan-only port of the original arcade game with extra game modes, playable characters, and downloadable content (which adds even more stages, characters, and music); and Otomedius Excellent!, a sequel to Gorgeous! which is currently scheduled for a North American release sometime this year, with a Collector's Edition that includes a double-sided pillow case, a 64-page art book, and the original soundtrack of the Otomedius series.
