I decided to upgrade to a Google Pixel 7 and figured I would see how well it handles video game emulation. For Sega Saturn, I decided to go with RetroArch using the Yaba Sanshiro core. It plays compatible games well at full speed and with enhanced graphics (I am using 1080p as the graphics rendering option--see more with my settings info below).

Yaba Sanshiro has its own standalone app on Android as well. However, the free version has some limitations so I decided to stick with RetroArch for this game.

I am using a PS4 controller connected via Bluetooth with this emulator. I tried using an Xbox One controller (which has worked great with my other RetroArch tests, but for this game/core/who knows it would disconnect every now and then). I had no such issues with PS4 controller though.

I am using the phone's built-in video screen recorder. Note that it can have a small impact on performance, so if a game appears slightly jerky but the FPS remains solid, it typically plays smooth as butter on the phone when not recording.
