Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Part 1: A Rogue's Welcome
And now for the sequel to Paper Mario. It's Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for the GameCube.
This game is very near and dear to my heart, and as such, I couldn't resist buying this gem again despite the game costing $35. It was well worth it. That, and purchasing a better controller too.
Anyway, we begin with Princess Peach obtaining a treasure map and then sending it to Mario, inviting him to join her on a treasure hunt. From there, he arrives at the town of Rogueport, where he saves a young female Goomba named Goombella from some shady characters. Afterwards, Goombella decides to join Mario on his quest, since her intellect will be of great help to him.
Goombella is very much like Goombario from Paper Mario in almost every way battle-wise, except she's much more sassy and funny. And that's why I like her. She starts off with the traditional Headbonk and Tattle, but that's where their battle performance similarities end. Compared to Goombario, she gains Multibonk at Super Rank, and at Ultra Rank, she gain an ability known as Rally Wink, which can give Mario an extra turn!
