The latest Pax Dei update is here, and with it comes a full wipe! In this commentary video, I return to the world of Pax Dei with a clean slate when it comes to building, but my character progress remains intact. Today’s focus is on getting our bearings in this refreshed version of the game — exploring new maps, checking population hotspots, and sending scouts out to evaluate potential starting zones.
We’ll browse the updated list of start locations and take a quick step into Merrie to look around. I also spend some time tweaking the graphics settings for the best visual experience in 4K on the RTX 4080 and i7-14700K setup. Pax Dei’s visuals continue to impress, and it’s a big reason I keep coming back.
To test out character creation again, I make a new character just to see if anything has changed. The customization options are still top-tier, with great presets and flexible adjustability to craft truly unique characters.
After that, I jump into Inis Gallia for a short journey into the black zone, where I attempt (and fail) to make friends with a goat... As always, the mystery and charm of Pax Dei is alive and well. This update looks very promising, and I’ll be hopping onto my main character soon to choose a location and start my new plot. Oh — and that new menu system? It definitely caught me off guard.
