PBR Battle 33: Three Swords and a Mage
2One of the strangest teams Ive ever seen, thats for sure. I mainly kept this battle for that reason. I had a few more before this, including an embarrassing loss which I feel really bad for not uploading, as it shows you exactly how not to use a Tailwind team. (it was my first time playing PBR in several months) I try to record every battle, but once my camera runs out of memory, I delete battles if a more interesting one comes along. I actually recorded a total of 5 battles here, but youll only be seeing two.
Anyway here youll see Gaugurant, my Marowak, named as a dual reference to the cannibal king from Arthurian legend and Ashnards sword from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. And added because I needed a REALLY strong sweeper to benefit from tailwind and to get rid of the huge Electric weakness I had. Bonemerang is there over Earthquake for the moment as Im a little iffy about potential friendly fire incidents coming of a doubled Attack stat. Ill probably test it out later though. I just had to show Bonemerang being used in at least one match. Not many people know that Marowak actually throws its bone for the animation now. Thats a lot better than that lazy excuse for an animation used in Colosseum and XD!
The only other thing I have to say about this battle is it shows a reason why spiecies clause is often used, especially in Doubles. I wanted to target the Stone Edge using Gallade in the second turn, but had no idea which it was due to both names appearing identical in the menu. This could be considered an unfair advantage. I didnt mind though, as I considered this more of a fun match.
Completely unrelated to this battle, but on a similar note: what definatly should be banned in any and all doubles matches is nicknaming one Pokemon as another. (e.g. nicknaming a Skarmory Blissey or, even sneakier, nicknaming an Electivire Gyarados) Im just saying this because Shoddy is about to release a doubles version, and this is definatly a clause that should be implemented.
