This is one of my favorite Ys games and I played through it a few years back with headphone amplifier and my physical Turbo Duo so eager to share some of that vibe (although I nearly gave myself ear damage playing this game). It took Falcom a long time to recognize and remaster this game - in fact for a long time they didn't even list their PC Engine works on their website, being much more focused on PC sales before they eventually started porting games to PSP and other Sony hardware. Part of the reason is probably that the game was partially outsourced (overseen by Falcom but developed by Hudson). I included some Ys 1 backgrounds I found while searching for some sort of official Ys 4 website on Internet Archive. Finally realizing how much in demand it is, that finally brought above the release of Ys Memories of Celceta which is sort of the official modern remake of this game, although it is pretty different from both the PC Engine and SFC versions.
