Phanteks Ethoo Pro Server Edition , Artic Fans, Cougar recording of sound NOT a professional review
2Recently Moved my Rig's Guts to a new Case, Phanteks Ethoo Pro Server Edition from my old Phanteks Eclipse. HDDS in Phanteks Eclipse were to cramped and got HOT, on room for 2 HDDS and they have no breathing room due to shroud even with a modded Noctua fan mounted on front of them. New Case I put 4 in take ARCTIC P12 Fans upfront full speed, 1 cougar turbine cf-t12sb4 as exhaust full speed, CPU Cooler has OEM Vetroo fan the cpu cooler came with.
I put the receiver end of the phone right near the fans so you can get a perhaps exaggerated example of the sound. I think its pretty quite normal low fan hum in total quite room, in my life only the Fractal Design R4 was more quite, but it ran maybe little warmer as I recall.
HDDs , GPU and CPU running cooler , HDDS particularly running 15 degrees cooler at idle and on almost 20 degrees cooler when running multi passes with Crystal Disk. The old case literally has so little circulation for HDDs the temps were get to a warning temp level when I hit them hard.
It's a GIANT CASE, easy to work in, lots of options for AIR cooling and I would guess for Liquid as well. I got the Solid Panel version so I have ventilation on one side for hard drive cage(s) area and ventilation over the CPU/GPU area on the opposite side. and ventilation top and bottom. Enough mounting for I think 5 GPUS and support for the EATX standards.
