The second part of the full playthrough of Phantom 2040 for the Sega Genesis. The path taken leads to the best possible ending that can be achieved in the game. I also tried to "rush" my way through the game as much as possible to see how fast I could clear the game while still picking items along the way.

Originally, this was supposed to be a melee-only run but since it was my first time to play the Genesis version, I realized I got myself into something I couldn't achieve mostly because of the brutal final boss battle that restarts all over if you fall down. I still decided to do a playthrough of the game to show the differences between the SNES and Genesis version. I might do a melee-only version of the playthrough of the SNES version at a future date.

Overall I prefer the SNES version for various reasons such as the quality of the music, better hit-detection and smoother controls. On the other hand, I recommend those who really enjoyed the SNES version to try the Genesis version. It's a fun experience thanks to the small changes in this version.

However, the Genesis version somehow beats the SNES version in term of plot for the game. Later in the game, after you defeat Graft in the Prometheus, you have a cutscene that does not appear in the SNES version which establish how the Phantom is able to reach the Orbital station and has interaction between Phantom and Graft which surprisingly, in my opinion is the best cutscene of the entire game and makes Graft even more sympathetic especially for the final encounter and ending. Why the SNES version doesn't have this cutscene is absolutely beyond me.

Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed this video.
