In this part, Phoenix cross-examines Will Powers' testimony in order to see why he thinks the bellboy who talked with the defendant is suspicious. Eventually, it is revealed that the defendant gave the bellboy a fat roll of cash!
Edgeworth claims the bellboy is Shelley de Killer, especially in light of the second testimony Powers gives. Edgeworth is right, but Phoenix wants to prolong the trial as much as he can, so he tries to pull a fast one and argues that the bellboy is not suspicious. In fact, Phoenix comes up with a pretty good explanation for why the bellboy was seen leaving the crime scene empty-handed.
