Pi3🥧 Plays: Alone in the Dark 2024 Remake!!!! Ep 1
FINALLY!!! I was able to pick up Alone In the Dark. We were supposed to do a playthrough of this in 2023, but it was delayed so it wouldn't be overshadowed by the RE4 remake, Lies of Pi and Lords of the Fallen, plus if I recall, they wanted to polish it up a smidge.
You can control either the PI or the daughter of a man staying at the hospital/psych ward (sorry drawing name blanks atm), both experience different things around the mano, in fact, in order to 100% the game, you must play through each. From what I understand, the game takes about 8-12 hours per character to fully complete a run through.
Essentially, it's a full reboot, not just a remake, of the Alone in the Dark series. Having played, yet never finishing, many of the original titles, I must say, I was very excited for this. So far, the game hasn't disappointed. I would like to know; the combat isn't very...well done. Aiming is rough and some of the creatures you can't even tell where their head/weak spot IS!! Another thing that stands out as rough, is the aiming/moving/shooting mechanic. The crosshairs have to gather while you aim, and it's just done in a weird way and can make it difficult when confronting multiple fast opponents.
So far my opinion is, that it's a very solid reboot and I can't wait to finish it. I hope this was successful enough that we get a full launch of new games!!!
