Pickaxe Only/No M1 Challenge Run ┃ Hazard 5 ┃ Solo (No Bosco)
226Got bored, thought up this challenge idea, and beat it in a few hours.
Basically this challenge mimics having no mouse left click (M1)...
..this essentially disables:
- Primary weapons
- Secondary weapons
- Every support tool
- Pickaxe power attacks
- Pinging (laser pointer)
...and for style points I abstained from using grenades.
I also avoided the Critical Weakness modifier because I am a masochist.
This would be near impossible without the Skullcrusher Ale buff, the Vampire perk, and animation cancels.
The current ""meta"" I had was to try to spam Vampire heals and tank with Veteran Depositer. Using "See you in hell" to boost damage with skullcrusher ale to one-tap most grunts, and thorns for a bit more damage.
I picked the Gunner class for his 50% explosive resist, mostly for exploders during swarms, if you choose to use grenades you'll probably want a grenade from Engineer.
Jet boots are 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘺 valuable but probably not required to beat this kind of challenge, I came close to winning on a few other attempts without them.
There is a metric-f***ton of RNG in an attempt; rolling a mactera wave is a guaranteed loss, more than one praetorian is an uphill battle, minibosses are out of the question, leeches are straight up area deniers...
Basically, everything except a grunt or two is a rough encounter.
All mods are cosmetic excluding one, "sprint by default"
simply makes you sprint by default and walk by tapping shift, it's to save my hand from cramping. 𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘱𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘬𝘪𝘯-𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳.
Should be in the game by default imo.
