Pillars of Eternity Game Review

Pros:
-Great world building and storytelling. Plenty of descriptions around the game, books, and lore.
-The Watcher and Stronghold system is unique and fun to partake in.
-Scripted encounter system is a blast and has a D&D feel to it.
-Nostalgic late 90s early 2000s feel. Harkens back to Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate era.
Cons:
-The game is ridden with bugs and little to no support from Obsidian. (ie: Switch port)
-Not 3D. This leads to combat being difficult to see what’s going on and a slew of other issues.
-Few portraits to support the amount of race/class selections. Should have allowed for us to upload our own.
-No multiplayer.
-Stats/Skills/Classes a confusing mess. Why not just use D&D/Pathfinder rules?
-Kickstarter stuff is a distraction, makes the game feel too corny and distracts from the story.
-Finding companions is difficult.
