Planet Laika is a rather bizarre PS1 adventure game, with some very light RPG elements co-developed by Quintet (Actraiser, Terranigma) whose games I love and Zeque (Kowloon's Gate). It also prominently features dog people, which does seem to factor into the plot, though it is a plus for people into ケモノ(furry).

I've owned a copy of this game for a decade and never got very far in it due my limited Japanese and how bizarre this game is.

Even my legit copy of this game does not run a modded U.S. PS1. I used a my Japanese PS2 to play it a few times, but for the translation I've opted to use an emulator. I haven't used one in years.
