“Big Blonde” is a short story by Dorothy Parker. Published in 1929, the story won the O. Henry prize for Best Short Story that same year. Set during Prohibition, the story sketches the life of an aging party girl as she searches for belonging, struggling with depression while still trying to maintain an image that is agreeable to those in her social circle.
