0On the ground parked at a gate at ZBAA, where underneath the parking designator sign states that the APU should not be used, so I interpreted that as using the air starter to start an engine before pushing back.
With ground power and air starter active, this allows electrical power from the ground power and air pressure from the air starter to have an engine started instead of using the APU for electrical power and air pressure. Once one engine is started and the engine starter is turned for the other engine, the air from the engine already running will be crossfed to the other engine.
