This episode we’ll be taking a look at the Series, “Robopon”. This was the biggest Pokémon ripoff out there. The game came out in 1998 for the Game Boy Color. The game was about a kid who has to save the world from an evil Boss. You use your Robopons to fight for you. The are a 150 different ones to get. You use magnets to catch them. The magnets come in

Magnet
Great Magnet
Ultra Magnet
Master Magnet
… yes that’s their names. You also had a device that took info on the Robopon. Even worst, they used the same Font from Pokémon and the same menu setup! Yep… they did that. However, it was a fun game to play. They had the Time option in there too! There was a digital watch on the game itself! I thought it was cool. I really found it to be fun. It was a clone, but i think that’s why I enjoyed it. It wasn’t Pokémon, but it was.
In 1999, the game went to the Nintendo 64. The game changed some of the mechanics of the game. In battle you could walk around the battle ground. It wasn’t much, but it was something new. I don’t like the mini game they have for the Robopon Flower, but still something new. They also included the import of Robopon from the Game Boy Color! This is some thing we got to see in Later Pokémon games for the GameCube. It’s nice to see this.
Finally in 2001, the series’ last game came out to the Game Boy Advance. The game went back to the classic fighting style. The one thing I really liked about this game was it is a sequel. The game starts where the last game ended. This is very nice. It is something Pokémon hasn’t done very much. It helped the game feel better.
In all, it was a great series to try out. I remember that even Nintendo Power made fun of the game. Calling it out. I still laugh about it. I’m happy that Atlus, Will, and Hudson did this. I hope you enjoy the video.
