This Episode we take a look at a Horror series. That series is “Silent Hill”. It’s hard to say just what Silent Hill is. The Town itself is alive. It feeds off of Dreams and Nightmares. If it wants you, you won’t escape. Even worst, you don’t have to be there for it to call or send you there! Most of the times, it uses the nightmares of others against them. After all, it’s what they wished for.
Silent Hill started in 1999 on the PlayStation. It was something new and terrifying! We didn’t know what was going on and the game was scary! The story was amazing! The game did so well, they made a Visual Novel for the Game Boy Advance in 2001. This game is outstanding! They did a great job of making it into a Visual Novel! Sadly, it’s the only time they did this. I would of loved to have more and in english. Without skipping a beat, they released part 2 that same year. This came out on the PlayStation 2 and PC 1st. It did make it’s way to the Xbox and later got re-released to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In 2003 the 3rd game came out for the PlayStation 3 and PC. It also got re-released to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In 2004, Silent Hill 4: The Room came out to the Xbox, PlayStation 3 and PC. This was really the 1st time we could see Silent Hill summon someone to it. It is creepy to think about it. In 2006 Sony gave us fans something unique. They gave us The Silent Hill Experience for the PSP. It is a promotional UMD for the Movie. It comes with Comics, Music, and more! It is an awesome UMD to have! In 2007 four new games came out! The 1st one was an Arcade. I haven’t had the chance to play this game. The next game was for the Mobile Phone. I would have loved to try this one out too. The next game was for the PSP and then got re-released to the PlayStation2. The game was Silent Hill: Origins. This game shows how Silent Hill was awaken. I like this one. There are some really scary things in this one. T_T The final game of that year was “Escape” for the Mobile and iOS. Sadly this game is no more. I would have loved to try it. In 2008 three more games came out. The 1st game was “Homecoming” for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. This game was not well received. They changed a lot of the game around. It could have been so much better if it wasn’t a Silent Hill game. Let me put it that way. Other then that, i found it to be fun so far. The next two games are for the Mobile Phone. Each of these I haven’t had the opportunity to try out. In 2009 “Shattered Memories” came out to the Wii, PlayStation 2, and the PSP. It was a remake of the 1st game. I liked what they did to the game. It is a new game with a newer version of the story. Out of the Versions, I hear the Wii version is the best. Only because of the controls. In 2010 BlackBerry got a game. Yet one more I wasn’t able to try. T_T In 2012 “Downpour” came out to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This game changed the game again. It didn’t feel like a normal Silent Hill. Just like Resident Evil 5. I like why they still mess with you in the game. It was nice. That same year is when two and 3 got re-released to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Heads up, only the PS3 version works. The next game to come out that year was “Book of Memories” for the Vita. Sadly it doesn’t work with the Vita TV. This was a great new take on the game! It is a Dungeon Crawler RPG! I love this Game! It too is a game that would have done better if it wasn’t a Silent Hill game. Finally in 2014, P.T. came out to the PlayStation 4. It was fantastic! It reminded us what Silent Hill was all about! Then the worst thing happened… Konami Killed it! Now Silent Hill is only going to be Pochinko machines. This is a sad end to a legendary series. Now all we have are the Hard Copies of the games. At least Konami couldn’t take that away from us. Give this series a try. It will creep you out. I hope you’ve enjoyed the video. Until next time.
