After meeting the legendary beasts at the Burned Tower, go to the gym of Ecruteak City and navigate a path of darkness. After each trainer will defeat, they will defuse their candles, making the path harder to navigate. If you fall into the fog out of bounds, you’ll be sent back to the entrance. Navigate the path and you’ll take on the gym leader. Morty uses Ghost type Pokémon. Haunter will use Hypnosis to put the target to sleep and Dream Eater to drain the HP of the sleeping target. Gengar will use Mean Look to prevent its target from escaping and Sucker Punch to strike first. After the battle, you’ll receive the Fog Badge and a TM30 (Shadow Ball). Shadow Ball has a 20% chance of lowering the target’s Special Defense stat.
