Pokemon Platinum Insanity Nuzlocke: Ep. 1: Welcome to Insanity!
Welcome to an Insanity Nuzlocke, a variation of a Nuzlocke I came up with that takes away all the nice conveniences in Pokemon that we take for granted. I'm sure I'm not the first to think of some of these rules, but I personally have never seen it done before. I chose to do Platinum for this Nuzlocke due to me not really remembering much about the Sinnoh games, except that I don't recall liking them as much as the others. This playthrough will be either a reminder of why I didn't like it, or a kick in the butt telling me that they're actually quite good.
Also, one of the rules I mention gets changed later on in the LP. It is the rule about not being able to deposit Pokemon. Please read rule number 7 below to see the updated version of this rule, and keep it in mind for when the moment occurs in Episode 7. You will see my reasoning for changing my mind when the time comes.

Insanity Nuzlocke Rules
-------------------------------------
1. Any Pokemon that faints in any way is considered dead, and it can never be used again. All dead Pokemon will be placed in a specific PC Box and never be withdrawn.
2. I can only catch the very first Pokemon encountered in any given route or area. No exceptions, no loopholes. Gift Pokemon count. The summary of a Pokemon tells what area it was found at. Even if I encounter a Pokemon I have already caught, it is still the only one I am allowed for the area. However, this rule does not come into effect until I am able to use Pokeballs.
3. In options, my Battle Style must be on "set", meaning I am not allowed to switch out once I have defeated an opponent's Pokemon. I can switch normally in the middle of a battle, but I will no longer have this option: "Opponent is about to send in *Pokemon name*. Will you switch Pokemon?"
4. I cannot use any type of repel... ever, and I am not allowed to run from wild Pokemon. All must be fought and defeated unless it is my first encounter, in which case it may be captured instead.
5. I am limited to using each Pokemon Center or other healing area ONCE. A healing area is defined as a place that fully heals all Pokemon in my party. However, I can choose not to use one if I don't want to, and it will carry over to the next one. To simplify this rule, every time I reach a new healing area, I will get one Healing Point, which can be used at any place that fully heals my Pokemon. This is so, for example, if I skip one Pokemon Center, I won't have to go all the way back to that specific one just to heal once. If there is a point in the game that automatically heals my Pokemon without asking me, then it does not affect my healing points at all. It would be considered finding a new healing area, but using the new point up right away.
6. I must show any and all training. There is no such thing as "off-screen training" this time around. This is more difficult than it sounds, however, due to the rule mentioned previously. I used to be able to train all I wanted and heal after every battle. Not this time though. I must rely on potions or other items to train without having a Pokemon faint. I must show any and all training in order to prove that I have not broken any previous rule.
7. Pokemon are only allowed to be deposited into the PC if they are fully healed. Fully healed means full HP, full PP, and no status conditions. Essentially, if they are in the condition they would be if I had used a Pokemon center, they can be deposited. This is to prevent me from healing anyone by depositing them, but not disallow me from using other Pokemon I've caught. (Yes, this is slightly different from what I said at the beginning of the LP, but my mind changes in Episode 7.)
8. None of my Pokemon's levels are allowed to surpass the highest leveled Pokemon of the next Gym Leader. Any Pokemon that does is not allowed to participate in ANY battle, including the respective Gym Leader, up until this specific Gym Leader has been defeated. As for the Elite 4, the Pokemon I bring cannot be above level 54.
9. All Pokemon will be nicknamed after businesses, companies, brand names, or other organizations. This is simply a gimmick for two reasons: One, I wanted to have a naming theme in order to avoid the slew of horrible and unoriginal nicknames I had in the last LP, and two, I graduated from college in December, and I have done so with a degree in Business. This nicknaming theme is a bit of a celebration of that.
