Man, every time we end playing this game I always get the itch to play more. Had another round after these where we absolutely stomped 2 Unfairs and 2 Hards, so it didn't make the cut due to being a one-sided stomp-fest. Ended up playing a full game just to get the thumbnail image. It's rare to have an RTS sequel be exactly what I wanted, which was Sins 1 but better. For the most part it's the same game with a massive improvement of quality of life, AI, visuals etc. but even the brand new features they did add are very fun. Moving phase lanes adds a lot more to a game that otherwise tended to become a 'fortress world' simulator, where a single chokepoint would be identified and fortified like mad, and once that fight was over the rest of the worlds were easy to roll over. The Advent are crazy fun and are indeed like playing a Caster hero in many RTS games, where your timed abilities are incredibly powerful and should be used to get an edge on your opponent, though I do hope the AI learns to protect its capitals with culture harder. What's interesting is that in my experience if the AI knows its fighting Advent then it REALLY focuses on producing culture, like in 1v1s I've played.
