Problems getting the XRocker XR Racing Wheel to work on Xbox One? There's a firmware update!
UPDATE 22/06/2021: It's come to my attention that XR Racing have redesigned the wheel, since I bought mine in B&M. This is not the same XR Racing wheel now on sale at Argos etc., or XR's own website. Mine didn't come with paddles on the steering column, and the buttons are slightly different on the new one, too.
Link to the firmware update: https://xrockeruk.com/products/xrocker-xr-racing-steering-wheel-with-pedals-5101801 (click on the Instruction Manuals tab, and then click on Connection Guide (PDF)...even though it says PDF, it's actually a .zip file which also includes the firmware update)
There was a surge in views on my original review of the XRocker XR Racing Wheel over Christmas, but people have been commenting for a while about having problems getting it to work properly on Xbox One (despite it being advertised as compatible with Xbox One on the packaging).
It seems there was a bit of an issue with some wheels, and XRocker have released a firmware update which should hopefully fix it.
I don't have an Xbox One, but I do have a PC. In this video, I quickly show you what's in the download, and how to perform the update. You will need a (Windows) PC or laptop, but it doesn't need to be anything powerful, it just needs to be capable of downloading the zip file and running the firmware updater.
The zip file also has instructions for how to adjust the sensitivity of the wheel (i.e. as an alternative to the in-game settings). Pressing the PS button may also make a difference, as it changes the wheel between two different modes, and some games only work (properly) with one mode.
