If you place furniture out of a zombie's line of sight, they will not know how to get to you. You can use this to block off every entrance to your safehouse, assuming you do not use player-built walls/window barricades, and zombies will never attempt to get inside.

Once the player picks up the furniture in front of the zombies, they immediately move in. Placing the furniture in their direct line of sight will allow them to attack that one piece of furniture.

I originally wanted to make furniture barricades so I could stab zombies from the other side with a Spear in order to defend, but seeing as how they don't move unless you make yourself vulnerable, I am not really able to put this strategy to use.
