PS1 Classics - South Park
Remember this, er... classic? I loved this video game as a kid. I would constantly rent it for the N64 and attempt to finish it over my weekends.
I picked it up recently to try relive some of those memories and things have definitely changed! I don't know if it's due to playing the PS1 version but the control are absolutely horrific. The voice acting, while good, is highly repetitive to the point of insanity.
I do think the graphics have aged well for a game of that generation but the field of view is horrific (although I always remembered it being poor). This should be interesting!
The game is developed by Iguana Entertainment and published by Acclaim Entertainment for Nintendo 64 in 1998 for North America and in 1999 for Europe, which was later ported to Microsoft Windows in 1999, but it is only released in North America. The PlayStation port is developed by Appaloosa Interactive in 1999.
A Game Boy Color version was in development, but it was eventually canceled by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators, because they felt the game was not for kids. However, they did keep a few copies of the Game Boy Color version to commemorate what was originally started as the first South Park game.
