By this point in time, the PlayStation was in its final years, although it would limp on for a few more years with budget titles, with its eventual discontinuance in 2006. The final wrestling title would release in 2003; however, in 2001, we would get The Simpsons Wrestling from the short-lived studio Big Ape Productions.

This studio would also be responsible for the 2003 entry Celebrity Deathmatch, albeit not the PlayStation version of the game, with Big Ape developing the next-generation version. Coresoft would develop the PlayStation version of the game. Both versions were panned by critics, with any version peaking at a 5.7/10, and the majority of reviews being much lower. #sports #wrestling #videogames #playstation
