Razputin (Raz) flees the circus and infiltrates a camp of Psychonauts, psychic secret spies, in the story. Despite being first captured by the Psychonauts, they allow him to stay until his parents show up, but he is not permitted to participate in activities. He succeeds in enrolling in and passing Coach Oleander's "Basic Braining" course. Agent Nein is impressed and asks him to participate in an experiment to gauge his attitude.
Raz sees a vision of Dr Loboto, an insane former dentist, snatching Dogen's brain while the experiment is still ongoing. The Psychonauts don't trust him once he finds Dogen brainless and cannot intervene. Raz learns after more training that Loboto is employed by Coach Oleander, who intends to utilize campers' minds for psychic death tanks. Following Lili's kidnapping, agents
