Quake Title Theme - PC - Synth Cover (renoise, TAL-Noise Maker, Synth 1, Microfreak)
Spooktober is officially here! It's 103 degrees here today but it's supposed to be Halloween so here's a scary sounding one for you! I know it won't be for everyone but I like this kind of stuff!
I am not a big FPS guy but this game was really the cream of the crop, state of the art must have game of 1996! I remember having to warm up to it because it was so dark and gloomy and honestly I was a bit scared of it when I was 11 when it came out. Probably due to all the scary noises and music coming from it on top of the nightmarish locations and enemies! But then I had a blast tryin g it play it on 28.8kpb modem and playing the shareware levels to death.
I used mostly software for this one. I kind of planned to do more hardware but it was coming along nicely so I just went with it! I used shreddage but didn't want it to sound like a "metal" cover. I really went crazy with the renoise effects on this one throughout using ring modulation, comb filters, etc. It was really fun to make unmusical noises throughout the whole track. Also, this was done almost with all free software except for the Synthwave drums, which I paid $9.99 for. Not bad!!!
