RaceRoom / DTM 2016 / Hockenheim / Mercedes AMG C63
9Sector3 Studios have now released their long awaited new build for RaceRoom Racing Experience on Steam.
Along side it they also had some new content to buy in the form of the 2016 Audi TT Cup series and this the 2016 DTM season.
So i thought what better time to not only put together a new R3E video but use this as a chance to try out some new video editing software.
The first idea was a good one but not so sure about the second after spending 5 days just putting this one video together !!!
Back to the sim and new content.
This was a big new build with many changes to the core sim and for the most part really do seem to of added a new level to the sim.

But i was very excited to try the new DTM content around the re-worked Hockenheim track.
And it did not disappoint.
The cars are a handful to hustle around and it feels like they have a real inertia to them due to the size and weight of these big touring cars, which is effectively communicated to you via the force feedback.
Also the sound is very well handled with all the associated track and tyre noise you would expect from pushing hard and even when you drop a wheel into the dirt.
I really had to work hard to get the new DRS system to work as i needed to be within 1 second of the car in front as i passed the start/finish line, not as easy as you first think, and then having three shots of DRS around the lap added a new level of strategy to using it.
All in all another quality addon for R3E that is well worth checking out and if they ever get proper triple screen support sorted I would never be off the sim ! Although you VR guys may have an early Christmas with the December build from Sector3.
