Raiden V: All S-route 1CC (AI Story and Voice Overhaul)
9This is a 1CC of the full S-route, complete with fight against the final boss Divine Rampart. For this video, we have significantly overhauled the story and narrative, as well as made all five speaking characters, The Crystals, and Raiden deep and complex characters.
For future Raiden V localizations, I plan to be transparent about using AI in the process. I’ve come to understand that AI voices are still a controversial topic for many, and I want to be clear that I’m using AI purely as a hobbyist tool. My intent is never to undermine the incredible work of voice actors but rather to explore creative possibilities in a respectful way.
We addressed oversights in the voice acting such as Valbarossa's voice not being disguised in Stage 5-S when her reveal as a woman is played up as a surprise to the Max and Eshiria (and the player).We redid all the English voices using ElevenLabs.io, fixing pronunciation inconsistencies (RAY-den instead of RY-denn sometimes, for example). We also gave the Raiden pilot voiced dialogue and gave the narration a voiced part.
The overhauls to Raiden V's S-route transformed it into a deeply layered and emotionally resonant narrative. The storyline now balances action, reflection, and philosophical exploration, weaving themes of survival, gratitude, and humanity’s place in the cosmos throughout. The conclusion ties triumph to remembrance, with Eshiria’s poetic broadcast and the crew’s camaraderie providing both closure and contemplation of the Crystals’ lingering mysteries.
The overhauls to the Raiden V S-route include significant corrections to military protocols, technical accuracy, and tactical terminology, enhancing both realism and narrative immersion. Proper use of ranks and titles ensures characters address each other appropriately in formal situations, while shifts to informal language highlight evolving relationships, such as Max and Eshiria’s growing camaraderie. The clarified command hierarchy strengthens leadership dynamics, emphasizing Max’s authority and Eshiria’s critical role as a tactical officer. Technical details, such as ship operations and communication systems, are now grounded in plausible futuristic scenarios, making the high-stakes action more believable. Tactical language is refined with authentic military jargon, creating a professional tone that heightens tension and engagement in combat sequences. These changes elevate the narrative’s emotional resonance by contrasting formal decorum with moments of personal vulnerability, such as Helga’s grace or Eshiria’s reflective growth. Overall, these refinements blend authenticity with rich character development and thematic depth.
Each character arc was refined to enhance depth and emotional impact. General Max evolved from a pragmatic, weary leader into a reflective, empathetic commander, balancing duty with humanity. Eshiria’s arc became central to the story, shifting from analytical certainty to empowered acceptance of the unknown, symbolized by her heartfelt broadcast. Valbarossa retained her chaotic charm but found belonging among the crew, adding humor and warmth. Campbell’s descent into authoritarianism became a poignant cautionary tale of ambition unchecked, while Helga’s grace and resilience provided emotional anchors, symbolizing hope and survival.
The Crystals were elevated from a generic antagonist to a profound existential force tied to planetary evolution, raising philosophical questions about humanity’s role in the universe. Raiden’s role as the player character was enriched, tying their actions to the crew’s survival and earning them recognition as the silent hero. The refined dialogue captured each character’s voice while advancing the narrative, blending humor, emotion, and philosophical depth.
Overall, the overhauled S-route story delivers a rich, engaging experience that resonates on emotional and intellectual levels, transforming Raiden V from a solid action game into a compelling exploration of humanity’s resilience and purpose.
