Lego 31208: Hokusai - The Great Wave set is a beautifully crafted representation of the famous Japanese woodblock print by Katsushika Hokusai. With its intricate details and unique building techniques, this set is sure to impress both Lego fans and fans of the artwork itself. It consists of 1810 pieces that arrive separated into 15 (some numbers in a few smaller bags) bags. Lego decided to make every decorated element printed rather than using sticks and thank god for that as the set looks just stunning when completed and stickers would spoil the overall impression and make it look tacky. During the building process, we can listen to the specifically created podcast/ soundtrack about the set (all you need to do is scan the QR code from the back of the box) but I personally found it boring tbh.
The finished model is not only aesthetically pleasing but also sturdy and well-built. The included instruction booklet is clear and easy to follow, making the building process a fun and enjoyable experience. Whether displayed on a bookshelf or added to a larger Lego collection, this set is sure to be a conversation starter. Overall, the Lego 31208: Hokusai - The Great Wave is a highly recommended set for anyone looking for a unique and challenging building experience. At the moment of writing this review set is unavailable in most Lego online stores, but it is a set that is definitely worth having in your collection especially since its pricing makes it really worth $99.99/£89.99/99,99 €
