Raptor: Call of the Shadows is a arcade shooter created by Cygnus Studios (now Mountain King Studios), and published by Apogee Software for MS-DOS in 1994 and later for Windows in 1999 and even later for iOS in 2010. The game is pretty simple in concept. Your a mercenary pilot hired by MegaCorps. Flying an advanced aircraft on another planet, your goal is destroying all opposing enemy corporations. Gameplay is similar to other arcade shooters from the era, with the ability to move left, right, up, and down. Destroying enemies earns you money for upgrades for your aircraft, and occasionally, destroying an enemy will drop a missile upgrade. The game has a total of 27 levels, with the game split into 3 sectors with 9 levels each: Bravo Sector, Tango Sector, and the Outer Regions. As was noted at the game's release, it has some of the best MS-DOS graphics around, and it has pretty good sound as well. Other than the many re-releases, the game never seems to have a sequel. This video was made using the shareware version, which allows the player to play the Bravo Sector level.
