1You can see Mr. Pearson’s marker on your map to start the quest. He’s inside the sidepart of a house.He’ll send you off with Charles to go hunting with a bow, specifically so you don’t scare any game off.
Follow Charles. Eventually you’ll find some game to hunt - deer.
Crouch down with Charles with L3 and stay put when you stop. Then, head back to your horse and equip the bow from your horse storage. Crouch again and follow the tracks - they veer off to the left a bit. The game then instructs you how to use Eagle Eye. Press L3 and R3 together to use Eagle Eye to highlight tracks. If you lose track of them, simply activated Eagle Eye again.
There are a few white trees leading up to the river. Don’t go past the last tree, or else you’ll spook the deer. Only call if you think you’re ready to let go - the animal will run right after lifting its head. Kill one deer, then find another and kill that one as well.
Once you’ve hunted two, Charles will be waiting for you back where you first’’ saw a deer. Now follow Charles back to camp. You’ll discuss Ms. Adler and the O’Driscolls. Soon, you’ll come across a bear in your path. Charles instructs you to steer clear - good advice. Let him lead you away from the bear to make it past him. ‘’You’ll probably have to calm your horse by holding L3 because the close proximity of that huge predator makes it nervous. Keep following Charles, without incident. By the end of this quest, you should upgrade the bonding level of you horse, which unlocks rearing. While stationary, press R1 and square/x. After a short conversation, you’ll have to skin the deer. Pearson will give you a wise piece of advice you can collect pelts and sell them in town for quick cash.
If you haven’t completed it yet, continue to Old Friends in the walkthrough. If you’ve completed that quest already, continue to Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall.
Hitch your horse next to Charles once you get back to the camp. Take the deer off the back of your horse, and meet with Mr. Pearson back where you accepted the quest.
