This is easier with control types C or D (both of which I normally hate, but they have their uses). I thought that getting Jill to cooperate was REALLY random, but it turns out that if you round the corner to head to the crank pretty wide, she will be there a lot more often than if you cut the corner super tightly and try to get there as quickly as possible.

Basically, you lead the Guardian over to the left side of the crank, using small but constant movements, because if you get too far ahead of it and just sit still, it will almost always try to swing its anchor at you. I believe that this can be done a bit faster, but that will need some testing. This is just to show the idea. It was about 1.3 seconds faster than in my 9:44 (where I ran all the way under the spikes), but I think that this can be done close to a second faster with better execution.
