Refs are a function provided by React to access the DOM element
They are used in cases where we want to change the value of a child component, without making use of props and all
Refs are used to get reference to a DOM node or an instance of a component in React. Good examples of when to use refs are for managing focus/text selection, triggering imperative animations, or integrating with third-party DOM libraries. You should avoid using string refs and inline ref callbacks. Callback refs are advised by React.
It's important to note that using refs should be avoided whenever possible. In React, the recommended approach is to use state and props to manage and pass data throughout the component tree. Refs should be used sparingly and only when you cannot achieve a certain functionality using state or props, or when dealing with third-party libraries that require direct access to DOM elements. Overusing refs can lead to less predictable and harder-to-maintain code.
