Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge - Comparing Basic Infantry
2,061Basic infantry may not seem to have anything interesting to show as anyone would expect Conscripts being the weakest by all terms. However, as those comparisons show each unit has its strong points.
Conscripts cost 100 resources and are the cheapest unit in the entire game. They are not very good in damage but as it seems they can survive against defensive structures much much better that the other two.
GIs cost 200 resources and can cause a lot of damage when deployed. They seem to deal the highest damage when deployed and when promoted they can really wreak chaos.
Initiates are also very strong and come at the same price as GIs. They have a short range but their damage is quite strong against all types. Needless, to say they are extremely overpowered when garrisoned inside a building. They can literally destroy anything in seconds.
