I recently sat an exam for philosophy at university, and this is one of the questions I was asked to answer. I thought I'd share the question, and I'd love to hear various thoughts on it.

In addition, it may seem that I am using the words theism and religion as exchangeable here, and normally speaking, I certainly wouldn't do this - the reason I'm doing it here is simply because not everyone is going to be familiar with the actual meaning of the word theism, but certainly will relate to the idea of religion.
